| NAJ I was born in the Catholic country that is Brazil in 1983, and brought up in America, the so called 'land of the free'. I've always felt I lived a double life. My parents are very Christian and I'm well, very gay. Knowing I was interested in girls from the age of 12 whilst going to church 2 times a week made me think I was a sinner. It wasn't until I was 15 and living back in Brazil that I started to experience women. Online chat rooms was the way I met girls to start with. Even though I was having my fun with the ladies I was still very tied back because Brazil is so conservative when it comes to homosexuality.
I couldn't have a proper girlfriend because I didn't want my parents to start wondering. It was only when I moved to London at 18 that I fully started to live a gay lifestyle. I find London such a cosmopolitan city. It has riches and delights from all over the world. I fell in love with a women for the first time in London and we were living together, sharing everyday things and paying bills together. I was finally free to walk the streets holding hands etc. I was general manager for the Candy Bar for many years which put me right in the middle of the london scene.
It was also in London where I met my good friends and band members, Voodoo Hussy. We have been together now for 8 months and there's no other band I would rather be part of. Great musicians and great women. Our music moves me. Shabby, (lead singer, also featured in I LOVE London Girls) her lyrics blow me away. Music with meaning that makes you want to listen to them over and over. Punk with melody as I like to call it. We as a band love hanging out in London and we for sure love London Girls! |
