Like most gay women I've had a soft spot for girls from since I was very young. my first experience with a girl was at the tender age of 8. The girl was my best friend at school and taught me everything she knew when playing 'mums and dads'. I had numerous crushes throughout my childhood including teachers, the little mermaid, jessica rabbit etc (not all cartoons I can assure you!) It was not until I moved to london that I actually had the opportunity to properly explore my sexuality. I moved here in September 2002 to study a degree in Fashion Womenswear at the acclaimed Central Saint Martins, where I met my first serious girlfriend.

My first scene experience was a year into my course when I walked into the Candybar with my ex. I have never been one to blend in and my outfit scored an immediate reaction. We were both looked up and down as we made our way inside, the girls at the bar did not look impressed by our miss-match outfits and partly shaven heads. (Amusingly our everyday attire soon became 'cool' on the scene).

My friends and I always stuck to polysexual bars and clubs and I never really went to all lesbian nights except when I could drag them to the Karaoke at the Candybar on wednesdays.
