| IDOIA I arrived in London from a small fishing town in Basque Country – Aupa!!
I was meant to stay only 2 weeks, mmm that was over 10 years ago! London impressed me, it was like no where else in the world, close enough to home and yet a million miles away. The freedom, the people, the parties, clubs, the London life - all incredible. And the English accent… oh dahhhling!! I fell in love with the woman who announces the stops on the Victoria line “next stop Victoria” oh yesss!
One of the first jobs I had was at the Lesbian and Gay café – "First Out", in central London. I was single, 21 and full of energy, working there I felt at home. Surrounded by people like me, who had come from everywhere to be in London - it helped me feel confident and outgoing with my sexuality.
This is what I call the London Effect – you can be yourself - here queer out and proud!
